Who operates MyArc

HeftyKoo develops and operates MyArc, an independent Chrome extension. Contact heftykoo@gmail.com for privacy questions. This policy covers the extension, support correspondence, and these policy pages. Effective and last updated: November 5, 2026.

Browser information used locally

MyArc reads tab titles and URLs, tab groups and pinned state, bookmarks, browsing-history results, recently closed tabs, and enabled extension names and options-page information to provide its sidebar and Command Palette. It uses Chrome APIs in your current browser profile. These browser lists are not uploaded to a MyArc server or sold to third parties. MyArc has no account service, analytics SDK, advertising, or remote executable code.

The sidebar reads page layout information to display its overlay and reserve space when pinned. It does not capture page screenshots or send page contents to us. Incognito mode is disabled.

Optional search suggestions and searches

Search suggestions are Off by default. If you choose Google, Bing, or DuckDuckGo in MyArc Settings, eligible search text typed into the Command Palette is sent directly to that provider before you press Enter. You can turn this off at any time. Address-like inputs and source-filter queries are excluded. Suggestion requests use HTTPS, omit account cookies, and do not include a referrer. The provider can still receive your IP address, request metadata, and the text you type; its own privacy policy applies. Do not enable suggestions when entering information you do not want to share with that provider.

MyArc does not send your tab, bookmark, history, or installed-extension lists with suggestion requests. When you execute a web search, Chrome sends the query to the default search engine you configured in Chrome. This is separate from the suggestion-provider choice. Temporary suggestion caching is held in extension process memory, not a MyArc database; entries are reused for up to 60 seconds and bounded to 64 queries.

Clipboard and local storage

Copy Current URL writes the current page URL to your clipboard only when you invoke the shortcut or command. The copied link includes its query string and fragment. MyArc does not request clipboard-reading permission. Its temporary clipboard field is cleared after each copy.

Appearance, sidebar width and delays, and suggestion-provider preferences use Chrome local extension storage. Tabs, bookmarks, history and groups remain managed by Chrome. Search results and pending requests are kept in process memory. MyArc does not maintain a developer-operated database of browsing activity.

Nested folders use Chrome local extension storage for names, hierarchy, order, collapse state and stable record IDs. Tab titles, URLs and order are saved locally to associate Chrome-restored tabs with these folders after a restart. Saved closed-window hierarchies and their recovery hints remain on this device until recovered or removed with the extension; MyArc does not reopen closed pages automatically. In a matched restoring window, unbound tab hints expire after 60 seconds. Folder and recovery data is not uploaded to us or included in suggestion requests.

The Getting Started guide saves only its current step and completion or skip status in Chrome local extension storage so you can resume it. This setup progress is not uploaded to us.

Automatic archiving stores per-tab last-use times locally and uses Chrome alarms to check temporary tabs every five minutes. Folder and pinned Keep tabs are excluded. Automatically archived page URLs, titles, IDs and archive times remain in local extension storage for 30 days, up to the latest 500, and can be reopened from Settings. Expired records are removed on the next archive read or write. Unsaved page contents are not stored. Archive data is not uploaded to us. You can select a duration or turn automatic archiving Off.

Permissions and your control

Tabs and tabGroups support navigation and grouping; bookmarks, history and sessions supply the corresponding local search results; management supplies installed-extension search and opens options or management pages; search uses your default engine. Storage saves preferences, folder hierarchies and local restart-recovery hints. HTTP/HTTPS site access and scripting display the sidebar, including on already open web pages. Favicon shows browser-cached site icons. Offscreen and clipboardWrite implement user-requested link copying.

You can change site access, shortcuts and extension permissions through Chrome. Restricting site access can prevent the drawer from appearing on that site. Protected Chrome pages do not allow an injected drawer. Other extensions open their options or management pages rather than native toolbar popups.

Alarms schedules local auto-archive checks. Scripting also checks whether audio/video or picture-in-picture is playing in accessible frames of expired loaded pages, to keep those pages open. It does not load discarded pages, scrape page bodies, or transmit media information.

Deletion and support

You can disable optional suggestions or uninstall MyArc. Removing the extension removes its local preferences, folders and recovery data according to Chrome’s storage behavior, but does not delete bookmarks, browsing history, or native tab groups you created or changed. Use Chrome’s controls for that information. Disabling suggestions does not erase records independently retained by search providers; use their privacy controls.

If you email support, we receive your email address and the information you choose to send. We use correspondence to respond, troubleshoot and handle privacy requests, retaining it only as needed for those purposes and applicable obligations. Please do not send passwords, full browsing histories or other unnecessary sensitive information. Contact heftykoo@gmail.com to request access, correction or deletion of support correspondence.

Limited Use, security and policy updates

The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell browsing information, use it for advertising or credit decisions, or provide it to data brokers. Processing is limited to the user-facing functions described here.

These policy pages contain no analytics, advertising scripts, contact form or tracking cookies. Hosting, DNS, security and email providers may process technical request information such as IP address, time, URL and browser details to deliver and protect their services. No system is guaranteed completely secure. Policy changes will be published here with an updated effective date.
